Customer currently uses SAP Remote Logistics Management (RLM) to execute logistics processes associated with the two-way movements of stock, non-stock and third party materials between the Perth DC and the Mine, Port and Rail Operations
SAP RLM is end-of-life as it was last enhanced in 2012 and SAP product portfolio does not have a solution for mining industry in s/4 HANA. For this reason, new processes need to be enabled by a technology solution that is not dependent on RLM in-order to support Customer S4 HANA Road Map.
Significant problems exist with current RLM processes that are negatively impacting business efficiency and effectiveness.
Returns process is not working resulting in unnecessary write-offs
User experience for the current RLM solution was nominal due to some of the screens irrelevant to process and waste of their time clicking through redundant pages.
Design Thinking Approach
Our Agile Solution Development Team, including Warehouse Logistics Consultant, Fiori Architect, Fiori Consultant, ABAP Consultant and Testing Consultant were part to understand Customer requirements for the solution and conducted a detailed feasibility analysis. Based on the analysis, multiple iterations of mock-ups were generated in SAP Build tool for customer sign-off.
Build
Daily scrum meetings with the Customer key contact to manage M-S-C Scorecard in order to prioritise build components with the continuous testing mechanism. Security and UAT test scripts are finalized.
Sign-Off
Deployment and Production verification testing executed based on customer approvals & sign off.
FOC ( FIORI OPERATIONAL CONTORL)
Knowledge transition to Support Team. Defects and Minor fixes managed through Customer change & incident processes.
Two Intuitive Fiori Apps were delivered as a part of this app suite for Managing incoming and outgoing materials and manifests in the warehouse. Consistent processes were achieved across all Customer warehouses with flexible design that does not impede Customer’s ability to change its logistics supply network.
Role-based Fiori Security design to support all functionalities of warehouse user including the combination of newly developed Fiori Apps and most frequently used transactions as Web-GUI tiles for consistent user experience through Fiori launchpad.
This application is widely used in customer’s central plant to automate supply tracking of incoming and outgoing goods. It is Simple to use as the new solution has minimized the data entry and maximized the automation where possible for less reliance on users getting it right.
Because of the portable nature of the solution, users can take their smart devices to incoming shipments and make data entries directly into SAP system via this app.
